365 Movies Day #40 "Rampage"

Yep, another Uwe Boll movie. What the heck? Much like "Darfur", "Rampage" shows us how effective Boll is at using massive uncomfortable violence and still tell a story that's interesting. When he isn't playing with video game films, he's actually probably one of the best shock directors out there, on a level with Miike, Roth and Wan.

"Rampage" is filmed in a documentary style (to an extent) with much of the dialogue improvised to create the illusion of reality. Reminded me somewhat of a found footage movie in that regard. Basically, our hero is a young burnout who decides to build a suit of bulletproof armor and go on a shooting spree. This movie is the anti-"Falling Down". In many respects it reminds me of a horror film with us seeing through the eyes of the villain.

Warning, the violence is disturbingly intense and, like "Darfur" a long way from the stupidity of "Bloodrayne". If you don't like senseless killing and mayhem, then don't watch this. If you can stomach it, definitely check this out. There's a lot more to it than I describe here.
